about

Fernando Cidoncha was born in Spain and studied at the University of Navarra and the University of Granada before moving to Florence, where he continues to live and work.

His artistic practice focuses on the human figure, using a representational and symbolic language to reflect on themes like solitude, intimacy, and the search for meaning. Drawing from both personal experience and spiritual traditions, his work often explores moments of stillness, introspection, and connection.

Alongside his studio practice, Fernando teaches drawing, painting and sculpture at the Foundation for Contemporary Sacred Art in Florence, where he also serves as coordinator. He sees teaching as part of his vocation—an opportunity to share knowledge and support others in their creative paths.
